A cartomiser is an atomiser and a cartridge all in one and most of you will be aware of cartomisers by now. But what does dual coil mean? Basically two heating elements in one – atomisers and regular cartomisers have one heating element, but dual coil means two , giving a larger surface area for the e-liquid to be heated – this means increased vapour production and throat hit. Having diligently done my research, watched plenty of videos, I can now understand the ‘geek speak’ involved ( by this I mean the fluent way these guys rattle off ohm’s and voltages as if they are reading a shopping list – but we won’t go there today).
So, how do dual cartomisers work differently to single atomisers and cartridges?
Several reasons:
1) The heating element –there is double the amount (remember – larger surface area) and it is spread out so that it runs from one end to the other (atomisers just have the heating element in the middle). As with all e-cigs it is the amount of juice to the heating element that is the most important for vapour production – double the surface area embedded in the wadding soaked in e-liquid means lots of vapour.
2) The airflow is different – with an atomiser the airflow is through the side – (those small holes) with a cartomiser it is through the top – this is why it is important not to over tighten –as this reduces airflow and it.
Here is something that gives great vapour, great throat hit and because you can fill it right up – (most take between 25-30 drops of e-liquid) it means you don’t have to walk round with a small bottle of e-liquid glued to your hand; no fiddling about – basically fill and go.
They are excellent value for money, and many folk do think they are ‘the answer’.
