Why has vaping created such a community?

Why has vaping created such a community? Why has it turned into such a sociable thing to do?

Vaping is a passion – yes it is an addiction to nicotine – but perhaps it ignites the same passion found with wine connoisseurs – a love of something that you enjoy and want to share with the world. Maybe there are vaping snobs out there, posing with the latest vintage screwdriver and have laid down TW Red Label 2010 in the cellar so it matures. It’s Possible.

Is it the toys with all the whistles and bells?  Is it the way it makes you feel?  The cough has gone; you can taste and smell again. Running for the bus  is no longer an excruciating event as your lungs are working.

What is it about vaping that makes it such a friendly habit?

Looking at the internet and the social media, especially for the vaper – there are TV shows, YouTube videos about all aspects of vaping, forums, Facebook groups, twitter feeds, and real meets where you get to see in person all the fantastically named people you chat to in cyberspace.  And it isn’t just confined to the UK, it is happening all over the world.

Did anyone ever do this when they were smoking? I think the friendliest you get with fellow smokers is a ‘can I have a fag mate?’ to a few friendly grunts about the weather as you are huddled in some Godforsaken doorway trying to avoid the arctic blasts from Siberia.

It will probably transpire, once the votes are in and the research has been done (and trust me, someone will research this and come up with some stats), that you will all have a slightly different reasons why you like to engage with the vaping community – but whatever it is –keep it up as it makes the world a much richer place.
