2018 was a milestone year for Totally Wicked as we celebrated 10 years in the vaping industry. As well as our anniversary celebrations, a lot happened in the world of Totally Wicked with new stores opening up and down the country, new partnerships and some awesome products. Let’s take a look back at some of the best bits.
Mr Wicked made a comeback to give away £17,500
October was the month in which Totally Wicked officially turned 10 years old so it was time to give back to you, our fantastic customers, for making the past decade possible. Throughout the month, for every £25 that vapers spent at Totally Wicked, they would receive an entry into a prize draw to win one of the three the cash prizes.
To make things interesting, Mr Wicked made a comeback to give away the money and he decided he would surprise the lucky winners so we could share their reaction. The respective winners of £2,500 and £5,000 were rung up to be told the good news and it’s safe to say they were delighted with their prizes in the run up to Christmas.
The winner of £10,000, David was surprised at his home with a cheque for £10,000; the pinnacle of a crazy week at Totally Wicked. Bringing smiles to these customers’ faces was the highlight of the year for many at Totally Wicked, myself included.
The Armed Forces covenant was signed
In March, Andy Reid became a brand ambassador for Totally Wicked. Andy is an army veteran who lost three limbs when serving in Afghanistan and against adversity, he works hard to inspire others through motivational speaking and counselling.
Working with Andy allowed us to gain a better insight into the armed forces community. Totally Wicked wanted to give back to the community so signed the Armed Forces Covenant in August. This would see us uphold a number of initiatives from site-wide discounts to employment opportunities for Armed Forces members. We look forward to providing ongoing support for the Armed Forces for many years to come.
The first ever 24hr dedicated vape shop opened its doors
Although the high street was hit hard in 2018 with chains from various industries closing their doors, Totally Wicked shops continued to open with new outlets appearing up and down the country. One of these stores was Totally Wicked Frontier Park, the first ever 24 hour dedicated vape shop.
Situated on the forecourt of Euro Garages’ flagship site – Blackburn Frontier Park, the store combines convenience and vaping expertise in an unprecedented move. This new store showcases this strong East Lancashire partnership, which now sees Totally Wicked products stocked in over 350 Euro Garages sites.
Official Club Partnership with Blackburn Rovers FC
In September, a deal was agreed which would see Totally Wicked become official club partners of Blackburn Rovers FC. Totally Wicked HQ is just a stones throw away from Ewood Park and the championship side has a strong following here at Totally Wicked, not least from Managing Director, Fraser Cropper who is a lifelong fan.
We look forward to a long and successful partnership with our local team and hope to see them climb back into the top flight in the near future.
We even made a short film
Today we are looking at our highlights of 2018 but in October we had a look at our highlights of the past decade. After accumulating vintage footage and gathering insights from key players and partners from across the business, we produced a short film documenting the history of Totally Wicked.
This nostalgic piece resonated throughout the office and we were inundated with messages of thanks for helping people go, and stay smoke-free.
Thank you to all of you for making the past year possible. We have exciting plans for 2019 and we look forward to making more great memories. Our tenth year has been a great one and we can’t wait to share another decade with you. Happy new year and all the best for 2019!
