If you want an advanced vape pod, look no further than this e-cig.
We are back with another vape review and this time I am going to be taking a look at the Joyetech Exceed Grip Plus pod mod.
This isn’t your usual pod mod, this is a vape pod packed full of extras. We take a in-depth look the latest piece of vaping kit from Joyetech.
The Joyetech Exceed Grip Plus is the big brother in the Exceed Grip range, but this doesn’t mean it is too big. In fact it is an ideal size. Really nice in the hand and as expected from Joyetech, this is a true experience.
The body is metal and has just the right amount of weight to it. The front side of the mod has the screen which is just lovely. 0.96inch and colour, it is crisp and clear. It also features a new style UI which is very easy on the eyes. You can customise the theme colour and I have to say the battery charging animation is a nice touch.
There is a removable side panel for easy access to your 18650 battery (more on that later) and the pod sits on the back of the mod. Colour options, there are only three to choose from, and it is more a style you are choosing: Black, Geometry or Street Art.
I mean, this is a Joyetech e-cig. Just from this name you know this is going to be the highest possible quality, the Joyetech Exceed Grip Plus doesn’t disappoint.
I needn’t have worried about the side panel, as the magnets hold it in place really well. But there are no rattles and it holds in place firmly, while still remaining easy access. The pod sits into the mod with a firm clunk and you know it isn’t moving anywhere.
A new chipset adds some extra features including Smart mode. Alongside the usual output modes such as variable wattage, smart mode automatically detects what coil you have installed and gives you the optimum wattage output.
The pods are well built and I love the adjustable airflow. Yes the pods have adjustable airflow, it is accessible and easy to use, much better than some of the other pod kits on the market with a nice easy slide. The fill port is the standard rubber bung that we are used to from pods. A slight niggle from me, you have to tilt the pod or lay it flat to fill it. Is this a major deal, no, is it an inconvenience that annoys me slightly…yes.
The coils are Joyetech EZ coils. These are push fit and supplied with the kit is a 1.2ohm and 0.4ohm options. The 1.2ohm is purely an MTL vape, for a restricted draw. This is ideal for higher nicotine strengths or nic salt vape juice.
It vapes really well, no matter what coil you use. Both are great in terms of flavour and vapour production. The adjustable airflow really gives you the ability to tailor that vaping experience.
Joyetech Exceed Grip Plus Battery Life
The Exceed Grip Plus takes a removable 18650 battery and can output up to 80W of power. The removeable battery is a really nice feature for a pod, as I know vapers like me prefer carrying around some spares (in a proper case safely of course), so I am never caught short!
So in terms of battery life, as long as you are prepared with spare batteries, it is never a worry. This is why I personally prefer removable battery mods.
Joyetech Exceed Grip Plus Scores
I really like the way this pod mod looks, but there isn't much choice in terms of colour options or style and the patterns won't suit everyone.
It is a Joyetech e-cig, it is some of the highest build quality available. Everything is considered and feels like a high end mod.
High points here as there is a higher resistance and sub-ohm coil options. This means it is accessible to a wide range of vapers, couple this with adjustable airflow and it is a winner.
The battery life is as good as your 18650 cell. If you are savvy you will always safely carry fully charged spares, so you never need to worry about your battery running out.
A solid kit for vapers who want an advanced pod kit, they want the benefits of a pod but still retain the features of their regular vape mods.
