Let\u2019s break these down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"mtl-mouth-to-lung\">MTL = Mouth to Lung<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a traditional inhale that most people use. You draw the vapour from your e-cig into your mouth, then inhale it back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"dl-direct-lung\">DL = Direct Lung <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The mouth part from MTL is bypassed here. But DL vaping has become more popular when vaping thanks to advances in technology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DL vaping is mainly used for vapes that have wide open airflow and sub-ohm vape coils. These e-cig set-ups produce large amounts of vapour, quickly. So MTL vaping is not really suited to it. But how do you choose which one is best for you? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We first need to look at the types of e-cig available and how to vape properly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"different-styles-of-e-cig\">Different Styles of E-cig<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"390\" height=\"440\" src=\"https:\/\/www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk\/vaped\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/arc-family-of-ecig-kits.jpg\" alt=\"arc family of ecig kits\" class=\"wp-image-20754\" style=\"width:222px;height:250px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk\/vaped\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/arc-family-of-ecig-kits.jpg 390w, https:\/\/www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk\/vaped\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/arc-family-of-ecig-kits-319x360.jpg 319w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 390px) 100vw, 390px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">e-cig Kits<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>Let\u2019s look at why might you need to use MTL or DL vaping. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You wouldn\u2019t usually DL vape on a small pod e-cig. Why? Because the atomizer head will be small, it will have fewer e-liquid inlet holes and the chances are it cannot keep up with DL vaping. This means you will probably burn out your vape coil extremely quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the very least you would suffer from constant dry hits (which aren\u2019t pleasant). So here you would use a traditional MTL draw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An e-cig designed for directly inhaling will have a sub-ohm atomizer head, which is probably larger than average and has more e-liquid inlet holes. These can withstand much higher power outputs and produce much more vapour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some vapers directly inhale when using this type of e-cig as it will produce huge clouds of vapour this way.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>All of this can seem confusing, but it isn\u2019t. Choose a kit and vaping style that is comfortable for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"vape-like-a-vaper-not-a-smoker\">Vape Like a Vaper, Not a Smoker<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Traditional cigarettes are already lit and burning. They also tend to offer less air resistance than an e-cig. This means you can draw extremely hard on them and there are no adverse effects. In fact, you would probably get more smoke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a common mistake for new vapers, as they often try to vape like a smoker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The whole process of vaping is slower. Your e-cig needs time to work as there are things that have to happen before you can get vapour. Your atomizer head needs time to heat up, and vaporise your vape juice into vapour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vape like a vaper. Take slow, steady draws on the mouthpiece. Don\u2019t take sharp, short draws as this can lead to problems such as flooding, leaking and gurgling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, you won\u2019t get anywhere near as much vapour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"holding-your-vapour-in\">Holding Your Vapour In<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You really don\u2019t need to do this. The only thing that happens if you do, is you exhale less vapour (I use this trick when trying to be discreet).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As smokers, we would inhale, then hold the smoke there for a moment to ensure we got our nicotine hit. You don\u2019t need to do this when vaping, as most of the nicotine is actually taken up through the mucous membranes in your mouth or right at the top of your throat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, inhale and hold your vapour in which ever way is comfortable for you. Don\u2019t force yourself to hold your vapour in if you think you are getting more nicotine, as you probably aren\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"coughing-while-vaping\">Coughing While Vaping<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>There are a few reasons you might cough when you first start vaping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A nicotine strength that is too high is usually the culprit here.
