If discarded vapes are in fact to blame for these incidents, it could be that some vapers aren\u2019t aware of how to dispose of vapes properly nor the impact improper disposal can have. They don\u2019t even have to have been purchased from Totally Wicked \u2013 we\u2019ll recycle any vapes, from anywhere. This is because vapes containing batteries may pose a safety risk if not disposed of properly. So, I thought it best to make sure you\u2019re fully aware that flushing vapes down toilets is a definite no-no. The BBC reported <a id=\"_ednref4\" href=\"#_edn4\">[4]<\/a> that workers at Northumbrian Water discovered 57 disposable vapes blocking a pipe. They believe these&nbsp; devices were flushed down a toilet in Darlington. Unbelievably, this wasn\u2019t just a one-off and another vape-flushing incident was reported in the Belfast Telegraph<a id=\"_ednref5\" href=\"#_edn5\">[5]<\/a>. This time, a couple\u2019s flight was delayed because someone flushed a vape down the plane\u2019s toilet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"30\" height=\"30\" class=\"wp-image-20479\" style=\"width: 30px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk\/vaped\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/red-cross-icon.jpg\" alt=\"red cross icon\"> Don\u2019t Dismantle your Disposable<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You may think it a good idea to dismantle your vape, throwing away everything but the battery. However, this is not advisable. While it\u2019s nice of you to want to save the experts a job, there\u2019s a couple of reasons you shouldn\u2019t attempt to dismantle a disposable vape yourself:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cover is-light\" style=\"min-height:215px;aspect-ratio:unset;\"><span aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-cover__background has-background-dim-30 has-background-dim has-background-gradient\" style=\"background:linear-gradient(360deg,rgb(227,7,7) 0%,rgb(224,224,224) 34%)\"><\/span><div class=\"wp-block-cover__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-cover-is-layout-constrained\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A single-use vape usually has an integrated battery that isn\u2019t meant to be detached from the device by consumers. On October 24, it was announced that the ban would come into force in the summer 2024, with the date widly exected to be June 1st<a id=\"_ednref8\" href=\"#_edn8\">[8]<\/a>. The current government is yet to announce plans regarding this, but it\u2019s thought that a disposables ban will still go ahead and fairly soon.<a id=\"_ednref9\" href=\"#_edn9\">[9]<\/a> Rather than wait until your favourite disposables are no longer available, it would be a good idea to switch to an alternative sooner rather than later. Afterall, why wait to save money by switching to a more sustainable and environmentally conscious kit when you can do it straight away?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Switching to a vape kit from a disposable may seem daunting but it really isn\u2019t as difficult as it may seem.
