I love packing a bag, leaving my worries behind, and just… going on a UK Staycation. You don’t need to jump on a plane to find that sense of escape, though. In fact, you can find some of the best adventures on UK staycations. I have made incredible memories right here in the UK, discovering places that feel a world away but are really just a few hours from home. A proper British staycation is an adventure in itself. For instance, you can chase thrills at a classic seaside resort or find peace and quiet in a national park.
To inspire your next trip, I’ve pulled together five of my favourite UK staycation destinations. There’s nothing worse than running low on supplies when you’re supposed to be relaxing. Therefore, I’ll also show you where you can restock on your Totally Wicked essentials during your trip.

1. Lancashire – A Classic UK Staycation
There’s something special about a UK staycation in your home county. For us, Lancashire isn’t just where Totally Wicked was born. Instead, it's the taste of salt and vinegar on the air in Blackpool and the sound of 2p machines rattling in the arcades. It's the bracing wind along Morecambe Bay and the stunning views from the top of Darwen Tower. It's that classic, no-nonsense British holiday feeling; a mix of thrilling rides, sandy walks, and finding that perfect spot on the pier to watch the world go by with a coffee and your favourite vape.

What to do:
A trip to Lancashire is all about embracing the classic seaside spirit. You can spend a day chasing thrills and braving the white-knuckle rides at the legendary Blackpool Pleasure Beach. For something a little more relaxed, take a stroll along Morecambe’s promenade to see the famous Eric Morecambe statue and enjoy the stunning sunsets over the bay. And if you’re visiting in the autumn, you can’t miss the dazzling spectacle of the world-famous Blackpool Illuminations.
What to see:
- The Blackpool Tower: An iconic landmark housing the spectacular Tower Ballroom, a circus, and the dizzying SkyWalk.
- The Midland Hotel: Admire the beautifully restored Art Deco architecture of this famous Morecambe hotel.
- Morecambe Bay: Look out across the UK’s largest expanse of intertidal mudflats and sand, with the Lake District fells in the distance.

Where to find your nearest Totally Wicked store:
You're in the heart of Totally Wicked country, so you're never far from your essentials! For those exploring Morecambe, our Lancaster store is conveniently located near the historic Lancaster Castle, making it easy to stock up on your favourite vape supplies.
2. The Lake District
I’ll never forget my first view of the Lake District. You round a corner and suddenly, the landscape just opens up into something vast and breathtaking. It's a place that makes you feel small in the best possible way. You might take on the challenge of a steep hike that leaves your legs aching but your spirit soaring or you could just find a quiet spot by a glassy lake to sit and soak it all in. Ultimately, the Lakes have a kind of magic that gets under your skin and stays with you. The perfect UK staycation.

What to do:
The Lake District is an adventurer’s playground. For a real challenge, you could set your sights on conquering Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain, or for a more leisurely day, enjoy a gentle walk around one of the many picturesque lakes. To truly appreciate the scale of the landscape, take a boat trip and cruise across Windermere, the largest natural lake in England. You can explore the charming towns and villages like Ambleside, Grasmere, and Keswick, which are perfect for browsing quaint shops and warming up in a cosy pub.
What to see:
- Hill Top, Beatrix Potter’s House: Step into the world of the beloved author.
- Dove Cottage, William Wordsworth’s Home: Discover where the famous poet wrote some of his greatest works.
- Aira Force Waterfall: A stunning waterfall in a beautiful landscaped Victorian park.

3. The Perfect UK Staycation in Yorkshire
They call it ‘God’s Own Country’ for a reason, and honestly, I get it. Yorkshire is a county of epic contrasts. One minute you might be navigating the narrow, cobbled streets of York, feeling the weight of centuries of history. Shortly after, you could be out in the wild, open expanse of the Dales. It's the perfect place to get lost, explore a ruined abbey, and finish the day in a proper pub with a pint and a plate of something hearty.

What to do:
Yorkshire offers adventures for every taste. You can pull on your walking boots and hike through the stunning landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, seeking out famous spots like Malham Cove and Aysgarth Falls. For a touch of nostalgia, ride a steam train on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway through beautiful heather moorland. Or, head to the coast to explore the historic harbour of Whitby and enjoy the traditional seaside fun and sandy beaches at Scarborough.
What to see:
- Whitby Abbey: The dramatic, gothic ruins that were the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
- The Shambles in York: One of the best-preserved medieval streets in the world.
- Ribblehead Viaduct: A magnificent feat of Victorian engineering set against a wild and rugged landscape.

4. The Cotswolds
Visiting the Cotswolds feels like stepping straight into a postcard. I remember arriving there for the first time. I’m always amazed that places this ridiculously pretty actually exist. Every village, with its honey-coloured cottages and perfectly kept gardens, seems to have its own gentle pace of life. Consequently, it's the ideal escape from the hustle and bustle. It’s a place for lazy pub lunches, long walks through gentle countryside, and simply slowing down for a few days.

What to do:
The best way to experience the Cotswolds is to simply immerse yourself in its gentle charm. Spend your days exploring the picturesque villages, wandering through the idyllic streets of Bourton-on-the-Water, Bibury, and Castle Combe. If you’re feeling active, you can walk a stretch of the Cotswold Way, a 102-mile National Trail that runs through some of the most beautiful scenery in the region. And no visit is complete without stopping at a traditional pub for a pint of local ale and a hearty meal.
What to see:
- Blenheim Palace: A magnificent stately home and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill.
- Broadway Tower: A unique folly with some of the best views in the Cotswolds.
- Sudeley Castle & Gardens: A historic castle with award-winning gardens.

Where to find your nearest Totally Wicked store:
You’ll find stores conveniently located on the edges of the Cotswolds in cities like Gloucester and Bristol, perfect for a pit-stop on your way to the rolling hills.
