E LIQUIDS & VAPE JUICE BY TOTALLY WICKED
E-liquids and vape juice are one of the core components in your e-cig. They’re vapourised by your e-cig and turned into the vapour you inhale. They’re also one of the fun parts of vaping, thanks to hundreds of vape flavours to choose from.
It is easy to get lost in the sea of vape flavours and e-liquid strengths. There are tons of flavours, specifics styles such as nic salts and plenty more to consider.

WHAT STRENGTH E-LIQUID SHOULD I USE?
The general rule when choosing an e-liquid nicotine strength is the more you smoke, the higher the strength you need to start with. But there are always exceptions, so expect an element of trial and error.
E liquids and vape juices range from nicotine free right up to 1.8% (18mg/ml).
The percentage simply means your vape juice is made up of one 1.8% nicotine, also known as 18mg of nicotine per ml. If you’re new to vaping use our handy guide below and find the perfect e liquid strength:
How many cigarettes
1 - 5 a day
5 - 15 a day
15 - 20 a day
20+ a day
Keep in mind each vaper is very different, someone who smokes 5 a day may actually need a 1.4% (14mg/ml), whereas a heavy smoker may prefer a 0.6% (6mg/ml). The best thing to do is listen to your body. But as a starting point, we do recommend the above.
Are you vaping but still craving a cigarette? Then you possibly need to increase the nicotine strength of your vape juice. Or does it feel like your eliquid has too much nicotine? In this case, you may need to lower your vape liquid strength.
WHY DOES MY E LIQUID MAKE ME COUGH?
If you are coughing while you are vaping (which is completely normal), it may not be because of your nicotine strength. You may need to switch to a nic salt e liquid. Without getting complicated, these vape juices have a different form of nicotine which provides a much smoother vaping experience and improved throat hit.
If in doubt it’s always better to stick to the general rule, if you are a heavy smoker you should start with a higher vape liquid strengths such as a 1.4% (14mg/ml) or 1.8% (18mg/ml). If you are a light smoker looking for an alternative to social smoking, a low e -liquid strength such as 0.3% (3mg/ml) or 0.6% (6mg/ml) may work best.
WHAT IS IN E-CIG LIQUID?
E-cig liquid in its simplest form consists of three elements; nicotine, vape flavour, and diluent. Let’s take a look at the individual components more closely.
The stimulant and addictive substance that is found in traditional cigarettes. We only use UK manufactured pharmaceutical grade nicotine from our trusted suppliers.
Nicotine has no discernible taste. Therefore, to produce the taste in your e-liquid a flavour needs to be added. There are various tobacco and non-tobacco flavours that can be used in an endless number of combinations to create the flavour of e-liquid.
Diluents – PG / VG / AG:
The diluent essentially performs two functions. Firstly, it is added to dilute the mixture of nicotine and flavours to the correct strength. Secondly it adds to the part of the solution that produces the vapour that is inhaled and ‘transports’ both the flavour and nicotine from the electronic cigarette to the vaper.
Our UK produced e-liquid is made on site at our Blackburn HQ. State of the art mixing and bottling equipment and regulated ingredients are what drive our world-renowned e-liquids.
WHAT DOES VG/PG MEAN IN E-LIQUID?
As mentioned above, diluents are there to perform a few different functions in e-liquid, let’s take a closer look at e-liquid diluents; PG, VG, and AG below;
Propylene Glycol helps to produce what we refer to as ‘throat hit’ in combination with nicotine and flavours. Our Propylene Glycol is high quality pharmaceutical grade.
Vegetable Glycerine (VG)
Glycerine helps to produce greater vapour and adds a sweetness and smoothness to the e-liquid.
Aqueous Glycerine (AG)
Our Aqueous Glycerine is high quality pharmaceutical grade and is diluted with de-ionised water to keep the e-liquid less viscous.
The diluents can be present in e liquids at different ratios, as a rough guide the higher the PG content the more throat hit, the higher the VG/AG content the more vapour is produced. Look for the PG:VG ratios on the e-liquid listings.
WHAT VAPE JUICE FLAVOURS ARE AVAILABLE?
E-liquid flavours are one of the fun parts of vaping. No matter what your tastes, there will be an e-liquid flavour that is your all day vape and trying different flavours to find the one isn’t a hardship.
Often, lower quality vape juices are inconsistent. One week you enjoy your menthol e liquid, the next you don’t. At Totally Wicked, we use our high quality and regulated on-site factory to ensure you get the same vape experience every time you buy.
As we provide so many e-liquid flavours, we have broken them down into five vape flavour profiles:
As the name suggests, these tobacco e-liquid flavours emulate the flavour of smoking. There is everything from rolling and flavoured tobacco, to regular cigarette flavoured e-liquid.
Ideal for menthol smokers, these menthol vape juices are smooth, cool and some are slightly minty. Some are mixed with fruit flavours, but most are an icy, clean flavour.
3. Fruit and Spice
This category of vape juice flavours contains everything fruity, from our best-selling Blackcurrant to Mango and Lychee. It is also home to some e-liquids that are a bit different, such as Cinnamon Menthol. There will be something for you in our fruit and spice e liquids.
4. Drinks and Cocktails
Sweet soft drinks such as cola, to energy drinks and cocktail flavours. In our Drink and Cocktail e-liquid flavours section the vape juices tend to be fresh, fruity and have a little bit of fizz.
5. Sweet and Dessert
If you have a sweet tooth and want to indulge in some of your favourite dessert flavours, or throw back to a retro sweet, then the Sweet and Dessert e-liquids selection is your vape paradise.
THE COST OF E-LIQUID
The average vaper will use around 10 bottles of e-liquid a month. This will cost around £50 a month. Now this may seem a lot, but consider most smokers pay around £10.50 a day for cigarettes and most vapers save an average of £3200 a year when they make the switch from tobacco to e-cigarettes.
There are ways to use less e liquid. If you are vaping a low nicotine strength but find yourself constantly vaping, you could consider slightly upping your nicotine strength. If you are using sub-ohm coils and high powers, take your wattage down a few notches as this is a sure-fire way to use vape juice quickly. Ensure your e-cig is fully maintained with a fresh atomizer head and your vape tank is not leaking.
If you are happy with the amount you are vaping, but want to save a few pounds each month, remember with Totally Wicked the more e-liquid you buy the more you save. You can pay as little as £3.99 a bottle when you buy 20 bottles or more!
If this doesn’t appeal to you, why not consider an e-liquid subscription. 12 bottles of your favourite e-liquid delivered straight to your door each month, as well as reductions on all full priced items across the site, all of this and more for just £35.
