"The AIO 3 is the perfect e-cig if, like me, you value a truly leak-free tank. It can be difficult to find a high-quality, refillable vape that doesn't suffer from some form of leaking. That's until the arrival of the AIO 3."
AIO 3 Video Review
The AIO 3 is the natural successor to the AIO 2, a product which remained popular among vapers for more than 5 years. This enhanced version retains the all-in-one structure, screw top filling, and pen-style design. However, it now features the latest advances in charging and atomizer head technology.
I've been using this vape for the past 4 weeks and I've certainly been impressed with this new addition.
Pen-Style design of the AIO 3
The shape and style of the AIO 3 is a big bonus for me. It's simple and contemporary, giving an understated but classy feel. The size is perfect as it's small enough to fit easily in my pocket but large enough to incorporate a decent-sized battery.
The pen-style shape is my preferred option when it comes to vapes so this one is ideal for me. Whilst the shape of an e-cigarette is subjective, the pen-style format remains incredibly popular among many. This vape pen has a reassuring weight to it. Unlike some pen-stye vapes, you can see and feel instantly that this is a device that has been built to a quality standard.
All in One structure
An all-in-one design has one major plus point and this is its leak resistance. A leaky tank can be a real bugbear for vapers, resulting in wasted e-liquid and a bit of a mess. In an all-in-one design, the tank is seamlessly integrated into the body of the device, and the airflow control is positioned at the top, eliminating any openings through which e-liquid could escape.
You might be wondering how to replace the atomizer head when the tank is integrated into the battery. It’s a straightforward process: simply remove the top cap, unscrew the old atomizer, screw in a new one, then screw the top cap into the battery.
Another bonus of this structure is that you can change the atomizer head even when there’s e-liquid in the tank. Just remember to fill the tank only halfway before reattaching the top cap to avoid any unexpected “Eureka” moments.
Battery and Charging
A big positive about the Totally Wicked AIO 3 is that it meets my 'battery benchmark' of lasting a full day between charges. The capacity is 1700mAh which is generous for a kit of this size and price.
Unlike its predecessor, this vape pen now features USB-C quick charging. This is a feature which is becoming more and more prevalent on the latest e-cig kits and it's an extra level of convenience, which is now a "must-have" for me.
Now that we've ticked the boxes for basic battery and charging requirements, let's take a look at a feature that makes this device stand out from the rest, the 7-level LED battery indicator.
There's nothing worse than being caught out with a depleted battery when out and about. It's therefore important to have a precise battery indicator and the AIO 3 has just that. The LED colour which illuminates the tank represents 7 different battery levels, giving a very accurate indication of when you need to recharge. It looks pretty nifty too.
Atomizer head performance
The AIO 3 follows on from the AIO 2 by utilising the BF family of atomizer heads. However, this new version features the BFC atomizer head which is a mesh coil. A mesh coil has thin cross-sectioned wires giving the e-liquid a wide surface area but with small inlets to create an even distribution. This results in a consistent experience with a clean flavour throughout the atomizer head's life.
This BFC atomizer head which is included in the kit has a 0.8ohm resistance to provide plenty of vapour. However, if you prefer to stick to what you know it's good news, as the original BF atomizer heads are compatible with the AIO 3. This includes the 1.5ohm Clapton version which was kitted with the AIO 2.
Is the AIO 3 easy to use?
The AIO 3 is very user-friendly primarily due to its all-in-one structure. The device is refilled using a screw top mechanism, which is quick and easy and can be done on the go. The charging port is situated on the side of the device meaning it can be charged whilst stood up; an underrated but useful design function of an e-cig.
The AIO 3 uses constant voltage output. This means the device will intuitively detect the resistance of the atomizer head and set the power to the optimum level. This means there's no need to mess around with power settings. It turns on and off with the popular 5-click function for safe transportation.
All in all, the setup and maintenance of this vape is completely hassle-free.
Features of the AIO 3
This is a no-frills starter kit, which has the key features to ensure it is easy to use and reliable. However, it doesn't overcomplicate things with unnecessary gimmicks and too much adjustability. The key features are USB-C quick charging, screw top-fill, and the new mesh coil.
Add to this the 7-level LED function and you have a starter kit that meets a very respective standard of specification but with a useful quirk allowing it to stand out from the rest.
Value for Money
The RRP is £26.99. E-cigarette kits coming in at under £30 can have a reputation for not standing the test of time. However, the AIO 3 breaks this mould by being sturdy, and reliable.
What's more, all Totally Wicked e-cig kits including the AIO 3 include a 10ml bottle of e-liquid and come with a 6-month warranty. This gives you everything you need to start vaping for just £26.99 and leaves you with peace of mind that you made the right choice.
If you're a smoker looking for a refillable vape kit to help you switch to vaping, the AIO 3 is a great option. If you're looking simply for a reliable pen-style vape that is easy to use, this is a great option. Or, if you're looking to upgrade your AIO 2 to an enhanced version with the latest technological advances, the AIO 3 is the only option!
