Yesterday was an absolutely momentous day for Totally Wicked brand ambassador, Andy Reid MBE. On November 27th, the veteran was awarded his well-deserved MBE at Buckingham Palace.
We will start by wishing Andy Reid a huge congratulations from all of us here at Totally Wicked. We have seen first-hand, the incredible work that Andy has undertaken over the years and we can whole-heartedly say that Andy is one of the most deserving recipients of this coveted accolade.
At Totally Wicked we are immensely proud of Andy, who to many of us has become more than a brand ambassador, but a true friend. Since Andy’s introduction to the business in March 2018, he has brought tears to the eyes of Totally Wicked employees and partners by telling his moving story.
In 2009, Andy Reid MBE lost three of his limbs after stepping on an IED whilst serving in Afghanistan. Rather than being mad at the world, Andy decided to take life by the horns and inspire thousands of people to do the same.
Motivational speeches, outrageous fundraising challenges and extensive business ventures now form part of Andy Reid’s impressive everyday life. From parachute jumps and 10k runs to opening his very own bar and releasing a book, Andy’s boundaries really do have no limits.
Andy received the MBE award for his outstanding service to Armed Forces Charities and for helping disabled children in the St Helens area. It is quite remarkable that the award has coincided with the 10-year anniversary of Andy’s life-changing injuries.
Alongside Totally Wicked, Andy is also a brand ambassador for Step Forward Homes, Morson Group, JMW Solicitors, Bright HR and ABF The Soldiers Charity. He has helped all these organisations reach the Armed Forces Community. This activity provides great benefit to serving members, ex-serving members and their friends and families in various ways.
Providing housing and jobs, aiding with legal activity, empowering smokers to transform their lives and raising well-needed funds are all examples of the ethos of the organisations of which Andy is a brand ambassador for. These are all particularly beneficial for serving members and ex-serving members who are in need of support.
We join all of these partners in celebrating Andy’s fantastic achievement. We’re sure that Andy Reid MBE will continue to surprise us with more outstanding challenges and ventures, both in his personal life and in the wider community.
Well done Andy, you truly are an inspiration to us all and we look forward to seeing you when you’re back from Buckingham Palace!
