Today Rovers have released their much-anticipated new shirt for the 2022/23 Championship campaign. Renewing their partnership with Macron for another year, the design uses the club's traditional blue and white halves. This years shirt also features "alternate sleeves and a subtle gradient pattern", red accents and the logo of shirt sponsor Totally Wicked proudly adorned on the front.
Investing in our local club
At a recent Business Breakfast event at Rovers, Totally Wicked Chairman, Fraser Cropper, reflected on our partnership with the club. He spoke about why investing in 'our' town, 'our' club and 'our' community is so important to our own business. Totally Wicked has been founded and rooted in Blackburn since our beginnings in 2008. Fraser described the honour of investing into a local club he’s supported since attending his first game back in 1973. He went on to discuss the exposure supporting a local club can bring to a small business, and how we truly cannot underestimate the value and passion it brings to the community when their local club thrives.
Ahead of the full reveal today, we also presented a teaser of the Blackburn Rovers new shirt at the event. It was a proud moment both for Totally Wicked and Fraser personally to unveil the first preview of the shirt.
An exciting new era for Blackburn Rovers, new shirt, new signings, new management
The new shirt marks the beginning of an exciting new era for the club. This year saw the departure of long serving manager, Tony Mowbray, at the end of last season. A fresh appointment in Jon Dahl Tomasson has given fans a taster of new beginnings at Ewood. Tomasson comes with an impressive CV and is settling into some new scenery at Ewood Park. He previously led Swedish club Malmö FF to two consecutive league titles, as well as to the group stages of the Champions League. The passion, pride and level of detail that goes into his methods of coaching has already been clear in early training sessions. Something Rovers fans will surely be excited to see.
Following a recent shake-up in the management structure at Rovers, Tomasson joins the club as Head Coach. He will be working alongside newly appointed Director of Football Gregg Broughton to lead the team to success. Broughton has taken on responsibility for the club's overarching football strategy' across the first-team and Academy. He will also be responsible for recruitment, medical, athletic performance and analysis.
With 3 weeks to go until the new EFL Championship season, things are coming together for what looks like an exhilarating new era for Blackburn Rovers.
