Coils Maintenance
Maintaining coils is an effective way to save money on vaping. Coil maintenance includes priming the coil correctly for approximately 3-5 minutes to prevent a burnt taste – this also applies to pods with fixed coils. It's also advisable to refill the tank before running out of e-liquid to avoid the coil burning out due to a lack of vape juice to vaporise.

Battery Maintenance
A clever way to save some extra money is by extending the lifespan of your rechargeable vape’s battery. Experts recommend avoiding both full discharges and full charges, so it's best not to let the battery get lower than 20%. The more important thing to remember is that the biggest strain on a vape battery is when it is warm, and when it is getting close to fully charged. Because of this, you can prolong the useful life of your vape battery by not charging it more often than you need to. Frequently topping up the charge will reduce the battery life, so aim only to charge the battery when you need to. If you can take it off charge when it's 90% full, this will also prolong the battery life, but it can be quite tricky to judge that accurately.
Keeping your vape away from high temperatures and direct sunlight will allow the battery to live a much longer and happier life. However, it's also worth remembering that vape batteries can also be damaged by being charged at temperatures below 5 degrees Celsius. They shouldn't be used at all if their temperature is below zero[i].
The usual safety tips for vape batteries also mean they will last longer. Avoiding dropping devices or batteries, keeping them in good condition, and not carrying them in pockets with keys and change will all add to longer life.
If your vape has adjustable power, vaping at high wattage when the battery is low can add to the strain, and can shorten the battery's useful life.
Top Tip: Make sure your vape doesn't get hotter than it needs to. If it does, let it cool down before you charge it. Try to take it off charge when about 90% full.
