During Rovers' back to back wins against Barnsley and Brentford, we were at Ewood Park to help smokers make the life-changing switch from smoking to vaping.
Totally Wicked and Blackburn Rovers FC entered an official partnership in September 2018. The two organisations are just a few minutes drive apart and Fraser Cropper, Totally Wicked Chairman is a lifelong blue and whites fan. The East Lancs partnership was therefore a match made in heaven.
Kick the Habit at Ewood Park
During Rovers' 3-2 win over Barnsley FC, Totally Wicked regional manager, Neil Skinner and Totally Wicked Retail Adviser, Kelly Curcic were on hand to help smokers make the switch to vaping, as part of the Totally Wicked Challenge. Based in Jack's Fanzone at Ewood Park, the team set up and got ready to change the lives of Rovers smokers, one byte at a time.
Armed with a bunch of byte e-cig kits, the pair were bombarded with intrigued Rovers smokers. In the run up to kick off and during half time, Neil and Kelly set 82 smokers off on their vaping journey!
It was then only a few days until Rovers next home game against Brentford FC and round 2 of 'Kick the Habit'. Neil and Kelly were joined by Totally Wicked Store Manager, Mat Boffey on a bitterly cold Wednesday night.
Despite the rain, spirits weren't dampened and the Totally Wicked team got ready to change many more lives. In the run up to the game, the stand got busier and busier and 33 smokers in total picked up their free byte. There were also some familiar faces who returned to say hello but this time they had a byte in their hand rather than a cigarette!
Rovers went into the half-time break 1-0 up and spirits were high. The 15 minute break saw a further 35 byte kits handed out to the Rovers faithful.
Over the two games, we gave away a total of 150 byte kits! Incredibly, each and every one was set up for the smokers and all the relevant guidance and information was given, all in this short time frame.
This could potentially be 150 smokers' lives changed in just a few hours. We're delighted with the results, both in the Fanzone and on the pitch during the two fixtures and we look forward to helping more Rovers fans make the switch away from cigarettes throughout the season.
