Totally Wicked vape stores adapt and overcome
Totally Wicked opened its doors in 2011 with our first shop in Wigan. Some of our longest customers may even remember the rather ‘eclectic’ window display…. Since then, our business has grown, adapted and opened over 150 additional stores across the UK, helping hundreds of thousands of smokers to transform their lives. But how does Totally Wicked continue to thrive and serve our customers during what has been challenging times for the vape industry?
The COVID-19 pandemic
Throughout the COVID pandemic, Totally Wicked continued to provide customers with all the products they needed to get through. Starting during the first lockdown, we helped to support vapers through our online store. We saw a huge increase in online sales. The whole company mucked in to get them out the door and to our customers. Head office and store members from across the country even travelled to our warehouse in Blackburn to help with the demand. During the second and third lockdowns, most of our store teams returned to work to help vapers by offering a call and collect service. This service was key, as some customers can’t make online orders and relied on store teams for help.
Once the lockdowns were over, our Totally Wicked stores were able to re-open properly. But, this brought new challenges. Our dedicated store teams ensured that customers were safe. We put thorough cleaning and hygiene procedures in place to ensure the safety of both customers and staff. The dedication of our fantastic store teams meant we were able to keep our shop doors open and serve our customers.
The disposable revolution
Over the last couple of years the demand for disposable vapes has skyrocketed. Liked by many for their convenience and strong flavours, products such Elf Bar 600 and Geek Bar are being vaped by a staggering number of people. These disposable vapes quickly became available everywhere from the major supermarkets to your local corner shop. Many independent vape businesses struggled to continue to attract customers through their doors. But, Totally Wicked weren’t happy with just selling these products. We also sought a solution for vapers that were ready to move on from disposables. We set out to develop a range that captured the convenience and great flavour of disposable vapes, but that gave vapers more options and better value for money. And so, the VLTZ range was born.

The VLTZ devices and liquids are made to match the intensity of the most popular disposables. But, the liquid is made by us, in our Blackburn facility, to the premium grade that our customers are used to, in a range of nicotine strengths to suit you. The VLTZ range seeks to improve the experience of disposable vapers and offer more cost effective and environmentally friendly solutions.
Totally Wicked vape stores – putting the customer first
In an effort to improve our store customer service skills, Totally Wicked joined forces with customer service specialists AvA-V. Working together with an enthusiastic and very nice guy, David Farley, the Mr Wicked CARES training was created and implemented across our retail network.

Did you know the C in CARES stands for ‘customer first’? The purpose of this new training was to maximise team member skills and ensure that all of our store teams were able to help any vaper to the best of their ability. The training focused on developing listening skills and taught store staff how to frame questions so that customers were able to provide all the information necessary, whilst helping them feel at ease within the store. This means that we are best able to find the right product to suit you on your vaping journey and give you the best experience when shopping in a Totally Wicked store.
Totally Wicked has always had a customer focus, but the CARES training helped bring this service to the next level.
