The enhancements to this vape are slight but important, and take the AIO Pod to the next level.

I began my vaping journey with the original AIO Pod, and it was this vape kit that helped me make the life-changing switch away from smoking. The new version therefore had big shoes to fill but I was excited to test it out.

Battery & charging

The battery capacity of the original AIO Pod was a big plus for me. It had a 1000mAh capacity which is decent for a kit of its size and price and should last most vapers a full day of vaping between charges thanks to the economic output level.

I was pleased to discover that the AIO Pod 2 maintains the same 1000mAh capacity, and even after a full day of vaping, I still had charge left. However, when the device eventually ran out of battery, I noticed a significant improvement with the new AIO Pod 2 - it now features USB-C quick charging, a feature increasingly common in modern vapes and something I now take for granted.
In total, the device was charging for just 70 minutes before it was back to full capacity!

Easy-to-use refillable vape pen

Refillable vapes don't get much easier to use than the AIO Pod 2. It's a fixed pod system which means the atomizer head is fixed into the pod and cannot be removed. I'm not a huge fan of changing atomizer heads so this was perfect for me as I just changed the entire pod to a new one when required.

The filling mechanism of the AIO Pod 2 was another key area of improvement. The original AIO Pod was filled at the bottom using a valve. This was a nifty filling mechanism but it did result in some leaking. The new AIO Pod 2 fixes this issue by introducing side filling with a rubber bung. This refill mechanism was just as simple but meant the pod and battery remained dry.

As with its predecessor, the AIO Pod 2 features auto-draw. This means there are no buttons to press so you can simply inhale on the mouthpiece to activate the kit. There are also no settings to change which means no risk of accidentally altering your experience.

AIO Pod 2 vape flavour & performance

When using the AIO Pod vape, I was already more than content with the flavour production. It turns out I didn't know what I was missing as the AIO Pod 2 blows it out of the water thanks to the new mesh coil. My e-liquid of choice was Red Label Iced Blackcurrant. The flavour profile was exceptional and the vapour production was plentiful but not overpowering.

All round, the new pod cartridge is a considerable improvement!

The battery performance closely mirrors that of the AIO Pod, with one notable change: it now operates at a constant voltage. This means the battery consistently delivers the same power level from the very first puff to the last, ensuring a consistent vaping experience, unaffected by the remaining battery life.

Look and feel of the AIO Pod 2

I prefer my vapes to be compact, which is why my first vape of choice was the AIO Pod. The AIO Pod 2 maintains its compact form and popular pen-style design. While the new version is slightly taller than its predecessor, it still stands at just 11cm. This size makes it pocket-friendly and so lightweight that I hardly even notice it’s there.

There are subtle changes to the finish of the AIO Pod 2 Vape Pen, with accents along the body adding a little class to proceedings. Among the three available colour options, I chose the blue variant, although there are also black and silver options to choose from.

Value for money

With all the aforementioned enhancements to the AIO Pod, I was expecting the AIO Pod 2 to be a few pounds more expensive. This was not the case as the AIO Pod 2 comes in at just £19.99, the same price as the original. This price point makes the AIO Pod 2 one of the best value kits on the market, and it includes a bottle of premium e-liquid.

It's perfect either as an entry into vaping or as a convenient secondary device to take out and about. It’s worth noting that over time, a fixed pod system may have slightly higher ongoing costs compared to a device with replaceable atomizer heads. Nevertheless, if you prioritize simplicity, the added expense of a few extra pounds per month is certainly worthwhile.
