At first glance, the new version looks very similar to the original Elf Bar 600. However, there are some key differences which set the two disposables apart. We'll take a look into each component of the Elf Bar 600 V2 and compare it with its predecessor. These aspects will include:

Does the Elf Bar V2 Last Longer Than the Original?
The lifespan of a device is an important factor for a lot of vapers. A disposable will reach the end of its life, either when the e-liquid runs out and it starts to taste burnt, or when the battery dies. Of course, you'll want your vape to last as long as possible. The longer a vape lasts, the fewer you'll need to purchase, making them better value.
Some manufacturers suggest a puff count for disposables. However, the methods normally used for calculating puff count have been criticised for exaggerated claims, and lack of standardisation. While the specifications of a disposable vape will have a bearing on how long it will last, it is not an exact science. The amount of e-liquid and the battery capacity are the main contributors, but other factors such as coil technology and power output also impact this. All of these can be quantified. However, personal vaping style and vaping frequency vary from vaper to vaper. For example, the length of your draw will have an impact. If you take long steady draws, you can expect your vape's battery to last a little longer than if you take a lot of short sharp draws.
E-liquid capacity of the Elf Bar 600 V2
The Elf Bar 600 V2 has an e-liquid capacity of 2ml. This is the maximum limit for any disposable vape and is the same level as all Elf Bars produced since February 2023. This maximum 2ml e-liquid capacity forms part of the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations (TRPR). Therefore, no disposables on the UK market should have been filled with more than 2ml of e-liquid.
Elf Bar Battery capacity
The battery capacity of an e-cigarette is measured with an mAh rating. This stands for milliampere hours. Without going into too many technicalities, the higher this number, the more electrical charge it can store. Ultimately if there are two vapes which are identical and are used identically, but one has a 500mAh battery and one has a 1000mAh battery, the one with the 1000mAh will last twice as long. The new Elf Bar vape has a 360mAh battery, exactly the same as the previous version.
Given the logic that both Elf Bars have 2ml of e-liquid, and the same battery mAh, you would think that the new V2 would not last any longer than the previous version. However, it's also important to consider other factors such as coil technology, power output and e-liquid optimisation.
QUAQ Coil technology with optimized E-liquid consumption
The Elf Bar V2 has a new mesh coil featuring QUAQ technology. This technology has ultra fine wiring and more effective heat concentration in the e-liquid. According to the manufacturer, this allows for a 24% decrease in power consumption and an 8.5% increase in e-liquid utilisation efficiency.
With all things considered, it's fair to say that the Elf Bar 600 V2 does seem to last at least as long as the original Elf Bar 600. However, when technology is changed to increase lifespan, it can sometimes have a detrimental effect on other performance aspects like flavour or overall vapour production. Is this the case with the new Elf Bar?
Flavour and the Elf Bar V2
When it comes to vaping, and using vapes to quit smoking, flavours are important. Disposable vapes are no different, and they are renowned for their intense flavour profiles. To many vapers, the Elf Bar's strongest attributes was its sweet flavour and wide variety of options. Let's take a look at whether the Elf Bar 600 V2 has continued in a similar vein.
Flavour intensity
The new Elf Bar 600 V2 features a new mesh coil. This is arguably the most pivotal difference between the two devices. We have covered how it affects lifespan, but what impact does it have on flavour? In short, it has a very positive one (if you like intense flavours). The intense flavour experience is produced thanks to this mesh coil technology.
The wiring of the QUAQ coil is ultra fine, which means the heat is concentrated where it is needed for effective vaporisation. Coupled with the use of a more heat resistant wicking material, this results in a clean, vivid flavour across each and every unit.
Flavour consistency
Producing a disposable vape which tastes great for the first puff is one thing. However, retaining this consistency of flavour throughout can prove difficult. The formulation and components which give the e-liquids within disposables that sweet taste, differs from more traditional 10ml e-liquids. This in turns affects the coil within the device differently, usually in a negative way. The sweet e-liquid's interaction with the coil can result in flavour degradation. Consequently, the flavour of most disposable vapes drops off towards the end of the device's life.
The original Elf Bar was reasonably consistent throughout. However, there was some level of 'flavour drop-off' experienced with all flavours. The Elf Bar V2 has incredibly consistent flavour from the very first puff, right through to the last, and in every flavour we have tried so far. In my opinion, this is the most substantial enhancement compared with the original.
Flavour variety
Currently, there is a total of 34 flavours in the original Elf Bar range. This does not include previous flavours which have now been discontinued, or the infamous Christmas editions. This is a comprehensive range, and covers various flavour categories including drinks, fruits, tobacco and menthol. How does the range of new Elf Bar 600 V2 flavours size up?
The Elf Bar V2 is initially launching in 20 flavours. These 20 flavours are in line with the 20 most popular flavours from the original product and include favourites like Kiwi Passion Fruit Guava, Blue Razz Lemonade and Strawberry Ice.
Soon after, a further eight flavours will launch in the new Elf Bar vape. This will take the range up to 28 flavours. However, unlike the first 20, the additional eight flavours will not be direct flavour replacements. These will be original flavours so keep your eyes peeled for the release if you want to try something new. It's important to note that some of the comparable flavours taste different in the V2 to the original Elf Bar. However, we think in every case, different means better.
Appearance & Design of the New Elf Bar
Disposable vapes come in various shapes, designs and colours; some more extravagant than others. The look and feel of a disposable vape can be important to some vapers. The weight, size and shape can be the difference between opting for one disposable versus another. This can include seemingly minor differences such as the mouthpiece.
Size & Weight
The size of the Elf Bar 600 V2 is almost identical to the original Elf Bar. It retains its cylindrical, pen-style shape which was approved of by so many vapers. As you can imagine, with the kits being the same size, the weight is also very similar. There is a very slight difference in the size with the Elf Bar 600 measuring 104mm/16mm and the new Elf Bar measuring 105mm/16mm. However, there are some subtle changes to other parts of the design.
Mouthpiece
The mouthpiece of the Elf Bar 600 V2 maintains the "whistle-tip" style, as seen with the original Elf Bar. However, the new version's mouthpiece is slightly wider, which makes it a little more comfortable when vaping.
Finish
The finish of the Elf Bar V2 has been enhanced to give a metallic look. The colour ways have also changed. Rather than the block colours seen on the previous Elf Bar, the V2 has a gradient finish. This new wrap adds a bit of 'pizzazz' to proceedings and sets it apart from its predecessor.
The final difference between the Elf Bar 600 V2 and the Elf Bar 600 is the bottom base. It's slightly more rounded on the new version, when compared with the Elf Bar.
Price of the Elf Bar 600 V2
At Totally Wicked, the Elf Bar 600 V2 is priced the same as the original Elf Bar. This includes multi pack pricing, and it will be available as part of disposable subscriptions. This provides a low entry level price into vaping and is a much cheaper option than smoking. However, there are much more cost-effective ways to vape than disposables such as the VLTZ range.

Final Thoughts on the Original Elf Bar and the Elf Bar 600 V2
With all things considered, is the Elf Bar V2 better than the original Elf Bar? Well In almost all areas, the new version has been enhanced. These aspects include the longevity, the flavour profile and the flavour consistency. Other areas such as size and price have remained the same. The difference in finish of the two devices is indeed subjective. In my opinion, the new version adds a touch of class, however some may prefer the understated look of its predecessor.
The one thing the original Elf Bar currently has in its favour is the wider variety of flavours available. However, eight further flavours will be launched in the Elf Bar 600 V2 soon, equalling the complement of 28 flavours available in the Elf Bar.
In my opinion, the V2 is an important enhancement on the already successful original. The improvements have been made in key areas, without negatively compromising other aspects. Don't just take my word for it, simply try both devices and see which one you prefer.
